The Russian Football Union (RFU) confirmed the holding of a friendly match between the national teams of Iran and Russia. This was reported on the website of the organization.
The meeting will take place on March 23 in Tehran. The players will play at the Azadi stadium, where fans will be allowed. The match will start at 20:00 Moscow time.
The last time the national teams of Russia and Iran met in 2017. Then the match ended in a draw with a score of 1:1. As part of the teams, Serdar Azmun and Dmitry Poloz distinguished themselves.
Earlier, on March 17, the final composition of the Russian national team for the March training camp was announced. Torino midfielder Alexei Miranchuk and Monaco midfielder Alexander Golovin were called to the team. For the first time, the team included Ural goalkeeper Ilya Pomazun, as well as Spartak players – defender Daniil Denisov and midfielder Danil Prutsev.
