The condition of the hospitalized figure skater Kostomarov improves amid a change in treatment
There was information about the improvement in the condition of the Olympic champion in ice dancing Roman Kostomarov. This was reported by Match TV, citing a source familiar with the situation.
According to the publication, the athlete is conscious. He had a tracheal tube removed (a catheter to maintain breathing – approx. “Tapes.ru”).
According to Izvestia, the doctors have changed the treatment regimen for Kostomarov and hope to soon restore the blood supply to the hands. If we manage to do this, doctors will be able to clean up individual areas of necrosis. Otherwise, the skater faces another amputation.
Kostomarov was hospitalized on 10 January. He was diagnosed with left-sided pneumonia in combination with influenza B. According to Telegram channels 112 and Mash, the skater was amputated with his left foot, as well as several fingers on both hands.
