Bolshunov said that the dominance of Norwegians in cross-country skiing is sad for world sport
Three-time Olympic champion Alexander Bolshunov appreciated the dominance of the Norwegians in cross-country skiing. He is quoted by Tatar-Inform.
“Of course, the Norwegians compete with each other, nothing more. This is very sad for world sport,” he said. At the same time, Bolshunov refused to consider them the best irritants, calling himself as such.
Earlier, five-time Olympic champion Johannes Klebo reacted to the proposal of the German national team coach Peter Schlickenrieder to reduce the number of Norwegian skiers at the World Cup. “Our best practices could help other teams develop,” he said.
In March 2022, the Norwegian Ski Federation suspended Russians from participating in tournaments under its auspices. Later, the International Ski Federation extended this measure to all international competitions organized by it.
