The day may leave two new teams qualified for the World Cup.
Throughout the day of this Tuesday, November 16, several teams will dispute transcendental commitments in their aspirations to be present at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. They will join eleven teams that have sealed their ticket to the next World Cup.
UEFA qualifying
This is the case of the European tie, whose last date will be played today and will define the last selection left to qualify directly. That quota will be fought in group G, where Netherlands is leader with 20 points, but closely followed Turkey (18) and Norway (18).
One of these three countries will join the other nine from the UEFA Confederation that have already achieved their qualification: Serbia, Spain, Switzerland, France, Belgium, Denmark, Croatia, England and Germany.
Conmebol qualifying
Another of the selections that could seal your classification today is Argentina. La Albiceleste is second, with 28 points, in the standings of the South American tie, beating Chile by 12 units, fourth ranked and the last to have a direct place in the World Cup, when there are only five dates to play.
Lionel Messi’s team will seek the classification against Brazil, which is precisely another of the teams that has already sealed its participation to be in Qatar 2022. The Canarinha obtained last Thursday one of the five places (four direct and a playoff) that the Confederation of Conmebol gives for the World Cup.
CAF qualifying
This Tuesday the last two teams that will compete in the third qualifying round of the CAF World Cup qualifying round will be defined. In this round there will be ten countries, which will play a kill to kill to define the five that will go to Qatar in 2022.
There are eight classified: Mali, Egypt, Ghana, Senegal, Morocco, Republic of the Congo, Algeria, Nigeria. Today the accessions of Tunisia or Equatorial Guinea and the Ivory Coast or Cameroon will be determined.
Eliminatory AFC
The elimination of the Asian countries was also active, although there are still four more dates left to meet the five teams that will qualify for the World Cup and who will accompany Qatar, the first country classified to host the event.
So far Iran (16 points) and South Korea (15) are one victory away from sealing their participation in group A and the United Arab Emirates (6) would go to playoffs; while Saudi Arabia (16) and Japan (12) will be qualifying in group B, although they are closely followed by Australia (11), which would be agreeing to playoffs.
Concacaf Qualifying
Concacaf will dispute its eighth date out of a total of 14 today and the best placed in the table are United States (14 points), Mexico (14), Canada (13) and Panama (11). The first three will qualify directly, while the fourth will determine their access to the World Cup in a playoff.
