Inter Milan asks for investigation over problems with tickets of their fans in Porto

A Inter Milan requested this Wednesday from UEFA an investigation into what prevented its fans from entering the Estádio do Dragão, home of the Portoin the round of 16 second leg of the Champions League of Europe, which ended with a goalless draw and the classification of the Italians.

On Tuesday, at least 1,000 Inter fans were unable to gain access to the stadium despite having valid tickets. The reason they were barred was that the tickets were intended for local fans, not visitors.

These fans were trapped in a narrow tunnel until the end of the first half, unable to watch the match.

“Inter Milan asks UEFA to intervene to clarify what happened and that situations of this type, contrary to the principles of sportsmanship, equality and inclusion, never happen again,” the Italian club said in a statement.

Inter also criticized the mismanagement of the situation, considering that the fans were exposed to a “potential danger”.

After winning the round of 16 first leg 1-0 and draw with Porto without goals on the returnthe ‘nerazzurri’ qualified for the Champions League quarter-finals for the first time since 2011.
