Islam Makhachev says Beneil Dariush could be his next UFC opponent

Russian mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter Islam Makhachev has named a possible next opponent in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). His words are quoted by the Weighing In YouTube channel.

Makhachev said that UFC head Dana White wants to organize a fight in October this year in Abu Dhabi. “I think Beneil Dariush will beat Charles Oliveira and become my opponent,” said the fighter.

Earlier on March 15, Makhachev spoke about a possible rematch with Australian Alexander Volkanovski. “If he wins the next fight and I win my next, why don’t we meet again?” the Russian said.

On February 12, Makhachev defeated Volkanovski at UFC 284 by unanimous decision. He made his first defense of the organization’s lightweight title won in October. In total, in his professional career, Makhachev won 24 victories and suffered one defeat.
