The Brazilian team debuts in the tournament in September, at home, against Bolivia and, in the same month, faces Peru, as a visitor. By the end of 2023, Brazil will play six times, two of them in October and two in November.
In addition, the calendar will, from now on, have two breaks – one in March and the other in June 2024 – for matches against European teams.
It is worth mentioning that the next World Cup will be played, for the first time, with 48 teams, divided into 12 groups of four members each. The top two in each group and the eight best third-placed teams advance to the knockout stage.
From then on, the 32 classified face each other in elimination clashes until the grand final. The teams that reach the decision will play eight matches, instead of the previous seven.
With the departure of Tite, after the elimination to Croatia in the Qatar Cup, the Brazilian team is still looking for a new coach. The national team already has a friendly scheduled for March 25, 2023, at 7 pm (Brasília time), against Morocco, and should be led by Ramon Menezes, interim coach of Brazil.
