UEFA answered the question about the future of the head of the RFU in the organization

UEFA announced that the head of the RFU Alexander Dyukov will remain a member of the executive committee of the organization

The Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) answered a question about the future of the President of the Russian Football Union (RFU) Alexander Dyukov after the congress of the organization, despite his absence from the list of candidates. It is reported by TASS.

“Dyukov’s mandate is valid until 2025, so he is not on the list of candidates for the upcoming elections to the UEFA executive committee, which will be held on April 5 in Lisbon in Portugal,” the organization said.

The head of the RFU was elected to the UEFA executive committee with the right to vote at the 45th congress of the organization, which was held in April 2022.

On February 28, 2022, the International Football Federation and UEFA excluded Russian teams and clubs from international tournaments. Domestic teams do not play in European competitions, and the Russian team was deprived of the opportunity to compete for reaching the finals of the 2022 World Cup.
