A native of Donbass Krylov defeated the American Spann in the UFC
Russian Nikita Krylov defeated American Ryan Spann at UFC Fight Night 221. This was reported by the correspondent of Lenta.ru.
In the first round, a native of Donbass, playing under a neutral flag, caught the opponent in a choke triangle. Spann was forced to surrender.
After the fight, Krylov said that he decided not to drag out the fight, as he admitted that due to illness he would not be able to fully withstand all the rounds.
The fight between 30-year-old Krylov and 31-year-old American Spann in light heavyweight was supposed to head the UFC Vegas 70 tournament in Las Vegas on February 26. A few hours before the fight, it became known that the meeting was canceled, as Krylov withdrew from the tournament, having ended up in the hospital with severe food poisoning.
Krylov was born in the Luhansk region. In 2018, the fighter spoke about the beginning of registration of Russian citizenship and also announced his desire to fight under the flag of the Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR). In total, in his professional career, he won 29 victories and suffered nine defeats.
