With the 2-0 victory of Bayern Munchen against PSG last Wednesday, midfielder Thomas Muller celebrated yet another team classification in the Champions League. After the game, the German said that Messi, the opponent’s star, is not the player who brings the most difficulties to his team.
“Against Messi, things always go well at all levels, especially in terms of results. In club football, Cristiano Ronaldo was our problem when he was at Real Madrid,” he revealed.

The numbers confirm Muller’s statement. In eight clashes against Bayern, Messi has only two wins, according to data from the website Transfer market. Cristiano already has the same amount of games, but three more triumphs than the Argentine.
Despite Muller’s exaltation of the Portuguese athlete, the Bayern captain softened the situation and also praised PSG’s number 30: “I have the greatest respect for Messi and for what he did in the World Cup”.
Qualified for the quarterfinals of the Champions League, the Germans are now waiting for the definition of the other clashes to confirm their opponent in the next phase. In the German Championship, Bayern is in the lead, with 49 points.
