Pogba is punished for indiscipline and is out of the decisive game of Juventus

On the eve of the duel between Juventus and Freiburg for the Round of 16 of the Europa Leaguemidfielder Paul Pogba was punished by the club for disciplinary reasons and coach Massimiliano Allegri decided to leave the Frenchman out of this Thursday’s match.

According to the newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, Pogba arrived at the training center in Turin on Wednesday night and was late for the training session. Allegri would no longer include the player among the starters against Freiburg and decided not to list Pogba.

In this way, the French midfielder joins Milik and De Sciglio as Juventus’s absences for the decisive duel for the first leg of the round of 16 of the Europa League, which starts at 5 pm (Brasília time). The young Miretti will start in midfield alongside Rabiot and Locatelli.

Pogba returned to Juventus at the start of this season but has yet to make a run of appearances in the starting line-up. After two injuries in a row, the Frenchman has appeared in just two games, against Turin and Roma, in recent weeks.

Juventus was legally punished and lost points in the Italian Championship. At the moment, Velha Senhora is in seventh place in Serie A, 12 points behind Roma, who open the G-4. Therefore, Juventus’s chance of qualifying for the Champions League comes down to the Europa League title this season.
