Irina Viner appreciated the FIG sanctions against herself with the phrase “no one will kick us out of the saddle”
President of the All-Russian Federation of Rhythmic Gymnastics (VFCG) Irina Viner assessed the sanctions against herself from the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG). Her words are quoted by Match TV.
Wiener reacted to the incident with one phrase: “No one will knock us out of the saddle, we go our own way and do not turn anywhere.”
On March 6, FIG suspended Wiener for two years due to a scandal at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo, where a Russian woman spoke insultingly about refereeing. A specialist will not be able to participate in any status in international competitions and events under the auspices of the FIG or receive accreditation for them.
In September 2021, Wiener withdrew the candidacy of Russian woman Natalya Kuzmina from the election of the head of the FIG technical committee, emphasizing that “she did something nasty at the Olympics.” The reason was the refereeing of the Russian woman at the Olympic Games in Tokyo, where the winner in the individual all-around was the Israeli Lina Ashram, who beat the Russian woman Dina Averina.
