Minnesota hockey players refuse to wear pro-LGBT uniforms ahead of NHL game
Players of the Minnesota Wild club refused to participate in a rally in support of LGBT people before the National Hockey League (NHL) game against the Calgary Flames (0-1 on shootouts). It is reported in Twitter journalist Michael Russo.
Hockey players did not wear LGBT uniforms for the pre-game rehearsal, although this was planned. Instead, several Minnesota players wrapped rainbow tape around their sticks and used themed pucks during warm-ups.
Earlier, the players of another team, the New York Rangers, refused to participate in the action in support of LGBT. In addition, the Russian Philadelphia Flyers hockey player Ivan Provorov did not wear a rainbow uniform, for which he was criticized.
Minnesota has 79 points and is fifth in the Western Conference standings.
