Bosnian football club Borac fined for banner in support of Russia

The Football Association of Bosnia and Herzegovina fined the club of the top division of the national championship “Borac” for a banner in support of Russia. It is reported by Klix.ba.

The incident occurred during the match of the 1/8 finals of the Cup of the country against Rudar on February 18. Fans of both foreign teams chanted the chant: “Kosovo – Serbia”, and “Borac” hung up a tricolor with the phrase “Glory to Russia”. The latter will have to pay 7.5 thousand convertible marks, which is equal to more than four thousand dollars.

The meeting ended with the victory of “Rudar” in the penalty shootout. Borac was eliminated from the Cup.

On January 25, after the quarter-finals of the Australian Open, in which Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic defeated Russian Andrey Rublev, his father was photographed with Russian and Serbian fans demonstrating the tricolor. For this, the Australian Tennis Federation issued a warning to the tennis player’s family and urged them to refuse to promote political views at the tournament.
