This Monday, Neymar spoke out on social media for the first time since Paris Saint Germain announced that the Brazilian star will undergo ankle surgery. The expectation is that the player will be “three to four months” in recovery, which puts the rest of the athlete’s season at risk.
“I will come back stronger,” said Neymar, in English, in his most recent post.
The number 10 of the Brazilian national team was injured on February 19, against Lille, for the French Championship. According to PSG, the athlete has presented “several episodes of instability in the right ankle in recent years” and the focus of the surgery would be to perform a “ligamentous repair to avoid a greater risk of recurrence”.
The operation will take place within the next few days at a hospital in Doha, Qatar.
While one of its main names is recovering, PSG is preparing to face Bayern Munich in the second leg of the round of 16 of the Champions League, this Wednesday, away from home. In the first leg, the Germans won 1-0.
