The game
In the 10th minute of the first stage, in a quick counterattack, Omar Marmoush was launched in depth, dribbled the goalkeeper and opened the scoring for Wolfsburg.
At 22, Randal Kolo Muani, received a cross and headed high to tie the match for the visitors. Four minutes later, Obite Evan Ndicka took advantage of the ball and added a beautiful shot, with no chances for Koen Casteels, giving Eintracht Frankfurt the advantage.
After taking the turn, the hosts went up to Eintracht, but, on two occasions, stopped at Kevin Trapp’s defenses. At 42 minutes, however, with a free-kick, Patrick Wimmer crossed the area for Yannick Gerhardt to head the ball hard towards the goal and leave everything the same at the Volkswagen Arena.
At 26 of the second stage, Randal Kolo Muani made a good individual move and passed to Jesper Lindström just pushing for the goal. However, the visitors’ goal was annulled as Muani was offside at the start of the bid. Thus, the match ended in a draw.
In the other game this Sunday, Bayern Leverkusen asserted command of the field and thrashed Hertha Berlin 4-1 at the BayArena. Sardar Azmoun, Jeremie Frimpong, Moussa Diaby and Amine Adli scored for Leverkusen, while Dodi Lukebakio scored for the visitors from the penalty spot.
