Euskaraz irakurri: Eneko Saralegik irabazi du II. Basque Country

Eneko Saralegi has been the winner of the II Euskal Duatloia held this Sunday in Azpeitia. The Navarrese qualified in sixth position for the final, but in it his was the best time, taking the txapela. Second has been Ibai Soroa and third Suharri Rodríguez.

They have had to overcome three tests: to begin with, they have had to cut four 45-ounce logs with the logs on the ground, then they had to run 4 kilometers (40 laps around the square) and finally they had to cut another four logs of the same measure, these being vertical.

In the first round they have competed Eneko Saralegi, suharri rodriguez and Xabier Zaldúa. Saralegi was the first to pass the first test and start running, with Zaldua starting from behind with a margin of 30 seconds.

However, Rodríguez rode lightly and overtook Zaldua at a very good pace, but the margin gained was not enough to beat Saralegi in the last few trunks. So, Saralegi has prevailed with a time of 30 minutes and 35 secondsleading Rodríguez by 2:54 minutes and Zaldua by 5:44.

In the second round they have competed Oier Kañamares, Ibai Soroa and Arkaitz Jauregi. Kañamares and Soroa have finished wide with the first logs and have run off together; Jauregi has had more work.

Kañamares was a little behind running and Soroa was once again the first to pick up the axe. He has not achieved the best time, but he did surpass the one made by Rodríguez in the previous round, achieving the second place in the final with a time of 32:36 minutes. Jauregi was second in the batch and Kañamares third.
