The appeals court of the Italian Football Federation announced, this Saturday, an extension of the investigation into the conditions of Mourinho’s expulsion, last Tuesday in Cremona, and, meanwhile, decreed the withdrawal of the punishment. A new hearing will study the case next Friday.
The Portuguese was handed a €10,000 fine and a two-match suspension on Wednesday “for having responded vehemently and provocatively to an arbitration decision” in Roma’s shock 2-1 defeat by Cremonese. .
The disciplinary commission of the Italian Serie A also reported that Mourinho entered “his authorization” in the dressing room of the referees after the match. Roma, however, asked for the suspension to be withdrawn after considering, according to the local press, that their coach had been provoked by the fourth official.
Mourinho’s charges are in fifth place in the Italian Championship, with 44 points, and, on Sunday, they receive Juventus for the 25th round of the Italian. The Turin team is seventh in the table, with 35 points conquered.
