Independiente de Avellaneda has announced that it will seek to negotiate with Fernando Gaibor, a former Argentine midfielder currently at Barcelona SC, over a ruling in his favor by FIFA following a breach of contract lawsuit.

Gaibor arrived at Independiente in 2018, and the following season he was loaned to Al Wasl from the United Arab Emirates. In 2020, he had to return to the Argentine club, but the tricolors declared themselves free due to non-payment, which is why he started the process before FIFA.

The entity ruled in favor of the current Canarian footballer and the Avellaneda club is obliged to pay $2,394,000 in outstanding salary debts plus 5% annual interest, from 2020 when the lawsuit began.

With this in mind, the Argentine team has announced its readiness to reach an agreement that will benefit both parties.

“We were informed today (Thursday) that they rejected our request and partially accepted theirs, but we have not yet received the reasons from the soccer governing body explaining the reason for that decision,” said Maximiliano Walker, one of the gaucho team’s lawyers.

“We will discuss internally with the board of directors what measures to take. An appeal is not excluded,” the program added in the conversation. Worked from cradle to hell.

According to the manager, approaches have already been agreed with the Ecuadorian player’s legal representative.

“We are in contact with Gaibor’s lawyer; We are united by a relationship of professional respect,” he said.

After leaving Independiente, Gaibor returned to Ecuadorian football and signed for Guayaquil City under the provisional authority of FIFA, while the club announced a lawsuit against the player for 20 million dollars, arguing that it belongs to his sports rights.

After going through the civic team, the tricolor midfielder arrived at Independiente del Valle, and this year 2023 he went to Barcelona SC. (D)
