PSG winger Hakimi is indicted after rape investigation in France

Achraf Hakimi, lateral do Paris Saint Germain, was indicted this Friday on a charge of rape by the public prosecutor of Nanterre, France. The complaint was made last Sunday by a woman who claims to have been raped by the player.

After hearing the testimony of the alleged victim, the police launched an investigation and questioned Hakimi on Thursday. The indictment occurs when the police investigation points to one or more indications that the crime was committed by the accused.

According to Le Parisien, Hakimi received the news that he was being indicted during PSG training at Camp des Loges, as the team prepares for the next game of the French Championship, against Nantes, this Saturday.

The French newspaper also brings more details of the rape complaint made by a 24-year-old girl who lives in the Fontenay-sous-Bois region, near Paris. The woman allegedly went to Hakimi’s house in Boulogne-Billancourt and received kisses on her mouth and body against her will. In addition, there was also a violation of private parts.

Hakimi’s lawyer denied the accusations, considered the complaint as “false” and stated that the player is “at the disposal of justice”. PSG came to the defense of the Moroccan full-back and declared that it “supports the player who vehemently denies the accusations and trusts in justice. PSG is an institution that promotes respect on and off the pitch.”

Hakimi is 24 years old, married and has two children. After news of the rape accusation, wife Hiba Abouk deleted recent photos with the athlete from social media. Last Monday, the winger was at the Fifa The Best awards and was elected as the eighth best player in the world.
