Women’s youth team of Russia under 17 will take part in the development tournament in Bangladesh
The Russian Football Union (RFU) received an invitation to the development tournament in Bangladesh. It is reported by “Match TV”.
The RFU said that the women’s youth team of Russia under 17 will take part in the tournament. It is noted that the competition is held by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), but UEFA representatives are also allowed there. The tournament, which will be held from 20 to 28 March, will feature teams from Bangladesh, Bhutan, India and Nepal.
In December 2022, it was reported that UEFA would host the tournament in Russia. In May 2023, Volgograd will host international competitions for youth national teams, which are part of the UEFA program for boys and girls under 16.
On February 28, the International Football Federation (FIFA) and UEFA excluded Russian teams and clubs from international tournaments. Because of this, the RFU has created a working group that will study the issue of moving from UEFA to the Asian Confederation until March 2023.
