The Ghana team took advantage of the home factor and managed to put pressure on South Africa, playing with the urgency of achieving victory. On minute 32, André Ayew put his team in front of the scoreboard. Visitors were not scared in the first stage.
Even though they needed to avoid defeat, South Africa found it difficult to impose their pace in the second half and watched Ghana manage the result that guaranteed the classification.
