The athlete from Zizur Mayor asier martinez will not be able to participate in it European Athletics Indoor Championships which will take place in istanbul between March 2 and 5 for a low back pain disc, as reported by Martínez himself and the Spanish Athletics Federation on Monday. In the European, they will be, on the other hand, Iker Arotzenafrom Hondarribia, in long jump, and Markel Fernandeznative of Sopela, in 4×400.

“This weekend, unfortunately, I will not be able to participate in the European Indoor Championships. An episode of low back pain prevents me from being one hundred percent. I wish my teammates all the luck in the world”, said Asier Martínez, in their social networks.

Martínez, 22, had the minimum to compete since 2022. Specifically, since he was proclaimed outdoor European champion in the 110-meter hurdles and took bronze over the same distance at the World Championships in Oregon (United States).

Arotzena, 21, and Fernández, 20, are in the Spanish team for the European Championships that are about to start, and they will compete in the long jump and 4×400, respectively.
