Russian tennis player Daniil Medvedev climbed to seventh place in the ATP rankings
Russian tennis player Daniil Medvedev improved his results in the rating of the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP). The rating is available on the website of the organization.
The athlete rose from eighth to seventh place after winning the tournament in Doha. Andrey Rublev remains the best of the Russians, who is in sixth place. Serb Novak Djokovic leads the ranking. In second place is the Spaniard Carlos Alcaras, the third Greek – Stefanos Tsitsipas.
On February 25, Medvedev won the ATP tournament in Doha, in the decisive match, being stronger than Briton Andy Murray. The meeting ended with the score 6:4; 6:4. Medvedev won the second tournament this season, before that he became the winner of the competition in Rotterdam.
In 2022, Medvedev led the ATP rating for 16 weeks with a break. He set a record among Russian athletes for this indicator. The athlete won the US Open in 2021.
