Brazilian striker “Zenith” Malcolm said that Russia has become his real home
The Brazilian striker of Zenit Malcolm said he was very happy to receive Russian citizenship. His words are quoted by Sport-Express.
“Russia is a country that has perfectly accepted me, my family and has become a real home in a few years,” Malcom commented on the situation. He promised to do everything in his power to please the Russians with his performances.
Earlier on February 24, it became known that Malcolm and another Brazilian football player of the Claudinho team changed their citizenship. Former striker of the Russian national team Ari, now representing Atlético Cearense, said that athletes were convicted in Brazil when they learned about their intention to obtain a Russian passport.
Malcom has been playing for Zenit since 2019. As part of the St. Petersburg team, he became a three-time champion of Russia, won the country’s Super Cup three times and became the winner of the Russian Cup. Claudinho joined the Blue-White-Blues in 2021 and, together with the club, became the champion of Russia and the owner of the Russian Super Cup.
