Sergio Busquets, midfielder and captain of Barcelona, was happy this Saturday with the return of Daniel Alves to the Spanish club, saying that the Brazilian “will give us a lot”.
“It’s a joy he’s back,” said Busquets this Saturday at a press conference on the eve of Spain’s World Cup qualifier against Sweden.
“We already know the player Daniel is, the time he made history at Barcelona, he arrives at another time, but knowing what he has been doing at other clubs, even at the Olympics, he will contribute a lot to us with his personality, your winning gene, your leadership,” said Busquets.
“I hope we are doing really well and we really want to meet again in the dressing room,” said the Barcelona captain.
Barça announced this Friday the signing of Daniel Alves, 38, until the end of the season.
The Brazilian, considered one of the best right-backs in football history, arrived at Barcelona in 2008 after five years of success with Sevilla.
In the Catalan team, he played in 391 matches and scored 23 goals, being one of the highlights of the team when he was commanded by Pep Guardiola, when he won, among many other titles, two Champions Leagues (2009 and 2011).
After Guardiola’s departure (2012), Daniel Alves remained at Barcelona until 2016, winning the third Champions League in 2015.
