Bidasoa loses to Motor and their qualification for the round of 16 will have to wait (33-31)
The Bidasoa Irun fell out of the house again against a Motor Zaporizhia that was bottom of the group, but could mathematically enter the round of 16 of the European League if the results of their rivals Aguas Santas and Eurofarm go along.
The Basque team, well with Víctor Rodríguez and Asier Nieto, but with their goal missing, like Azkue and Mitic, they had to be behind on the scoreboard throughout the period, except for occasional draws or minimal differences because there was almost no defense and the Zaporizhia pitchers were on the loose.
The downside was not worrisome but the feelings that Bidasoa emitted at the back did, the change of goalkeeper with the entry of the Pole Jakub did not improve performance either and only the goal on the buzzer by Rodrigo Salinas minimized the damage and left things as they had started (16-16).
Bidasoa improved in a second half in which he advanced his defense with the Cuban Dariel García, the Tunisian Mehdi contributed and the winger Cavero assumed the scoring role to catch a breath against a Engine that did not give its arm to twist at all.
Stability is not the forte of this Bidasoa who chained again offensive misses and defensive gifts that the Ukrainians, with Turchenko wreaking havoc, would not waste five crazy minutes that served them to take a rent of four definitive despite yellow efforts.
Jacobo Cuétara’s team would have one last option in the last fifteen seconds with a goal down (32-31) and rival possession, but Turchenko reappeared to curb the illusions of Bidasoa Irun.
