Head to head European qualifiers define World Cup spots

The last round of the European Qualifiers starts this Sunday. The highlight will be the direct clashes in some groups that define places for the 2022 World Cup, in Qatar.

For Group A, Portugal and Serbia duel in Lisbon. The two teams arrive for the match with 17 points. However, the hosts go into the confrontation with the advantage of a draw.

The Portuguese don’t want to go through the repechage and count on Cristiano Ronaldo’s goals.

Group B will also be defined in a direct duel. Spain and Sweden face off in Seville. The hosts counted on their rival’s stumble in the last round and are playing for a draw.

For the Swedes, only the victory matters so that they don’t go to a repechage.

The same situation happens in Group H. Current world runners-up Croatia need a victory over Russia in Zagreb.

The Russians are two points ahead and are looking to surprise them to return to the World Cup.
