The FIS apologized for the inclusion of the Russians Bolshunov and Nepryaeva in the promo video of the 2023 World Cup
The International Ski Federation (FIS) commented on the inclusion of Russian athletes in the promo video of the 2023 World Cup. It is reported by Aftonbladet.
“Actually, this is my mistake. It wouldn’t have happened, but when the video came out, it was too late to change it. Only small episodes were included, but we would not have included them, ”said FIS press officer Sinne Dierhaug and apologized for what happened.
On February 16, FIS published on YouTube a video announcing the 2023 World Championships, which included footage of three-time Olympic champion Alexander Bolshunov and Games champion Natalia Nepryaeva. The tournament will be held from February 22 to March 5, 2023 in the Slovenian city of Planica.
In March 2022, the Norwegian Ski Federation suspended Russian athletes from competitions held in the country. Later, the FIS extended the ban for Russians to all competitions under the auspices of the organization.
