Coach Krikunov called a coward a Finnish hockey player who ridiculed performances in Russia
Former coach of the Russian national team Vladimir Krikunov responded to the Finnish hockey player who ridiculed performances in Russia. His words are quoted by Sport24.
The specialist called the athlete, who wished to remain anonymous, a coward. In his opinion, the Finn should express gratitude, and not make excuses for playing in the Continental Hockey League (KHL). “They come for money in the first place,” summed up Krikunov.
Earlier on Monday, February 20, the Finnish hockey player admitted that he decided to play in the KHL because he was only interested in money. He called the athletes’ claims that “they came to Russia because of the scenery or borscht” nonsense.
The material Ilta-Sanomat notes that the average salary of a Finnish hockey player in the KHL is estimated at 500 thousand euros per season. This amounts to almost 40 million rubles.
