UFC Champion Aljamain Sterling Says Caucasian Fans Annoy Him
UFC bantamweight champion, American mixed martial artist (MMA) Aljamain Sterling criticized fans from the Caucasian regions of Russia on his YouTube channel.
The athlete said that Chechens and Dagestanis do not know how to analyze fights, relying only on the impressions of the previous performance of the fighter. “And when I say that his opponent is doing well, they tell me that I am a hater. It really annoys me,” he said.
Sterling defended the UFC championship belt on October 25, 2022, defeating compatriot T.J. Dillashaw by technical knockout. The athlete has 24 fights according to the rules of mixed martial arts, 22 of which he won.
American MMA fighter Michael Chandler also complained about Dagestan fans in October 2020. He said that they showered him with messages in a language he did not understand.
