Nice draw with Reims and maintain undefeated streak in France

This Saturday, Nice and Reims played a goalless draw, in a match valid for the 24th round of the French Championshipoccurred in Allianz Riviera.

The result did not change the teams’ position in the table. Nice, who completed their seventh game without defeats in France, reached 38 points, but remained in 7th place in the competition. On the other hand, Reims, which also boasts an unbeaten streak, but with 9 games, remains in 10th place, with 34 points.

The two clubs return to the field next Sunday, February 26, for the 25th round of Ligue 1. At 11 am (Brasília time), Reims faces Toulouse, at the Stade Auguste-Delaune II. A little later, at 13:05, Nice visit Monaco at the Stade Louis II.

The game

In the first half, despite the balanced possession of the ball between the teams, Nice had more opportunities to take the lead. However, the hosts, who had ten submissions in the first stage, against only one by Reims, failed in their aim, keeping the scoreboard unchanged.

Already in the second half, Reims started to offer greater danger to Nice. In the 8th minute, Jean-Clair Todibo brought down Folarin Balogun in the area and the referee signaled a penalty. In the kick, the visiting team striker kicked at half height and goalkeeper Schmeichel defended. In the 34th minute, Van Bergen received it in the small area, but headed it out, decreeing the draw at Allianz Riviera.

Another round match

In the other game this Saturday, for the Frenchman, Strasbourg beat Angers by 2-1, in a match that took place at the Stade de la Meinau. Habib Diallo scored twice for the hosts and Nabil Bentaleb scored for the visitors.
