Due to the blockade of the roads, the branches of the Banco de la Nación ran out of cash, which harmed the most vulnerable population.
The manager of the Network of Agencies of the Bank of the Nation (BN)Hector Cuadros, reported that the cash supply process has begun in the Puno region, with the objective that people can withdraw their money normally. The executive explained that the limitations of money began to be registered due to the blockades of the main roads.
“Today we are supplying all the ATMs with the greatest availability of money so that there is no limitation. We have been limiting a bit, not so much because we do not have money, but because the roads were interrupted and we have been using the air route, but today it is restoring absolutely all care and supplies throughout the southern zone,” Cuadros said in RPP.
The BN executive pointed out that there was also a shortage in Apurimac as a result of the protests but that with the support of the Armed Forces this whole situation is being overcome.
This Saturday, February 18, President Dina Boluarte supervised the sending of cash to the Puno region to guarantee the payments, assets, pensions and subsidies of Juntos and Pension 65 that are made through the Banco de la Nación.
“Today we will be serving the flows through an airlift so that the Nation’s banks in Puno, but also those private banks that require monetary support from Banco de la Nación, can serve the population,” said Boluarte.
