Ex-Flamengo, Paulo Sousa shows happiness for the chance at Salernitana: “I feel at home”

The Portuguese Paulo Sousa, former coach of Flamengo, was announced last Wednesday as the new commander of Salernitana. On his social networks, the coach expressed joy for the new position and promised a lot of commitment.

“I am happy to be the new coach of Salernitana and to return to a country where I feel at home. With hard work, team spirit and dynamism, we can overcome any challenge, ”he said.

Paulo Sousa arrived to replace coach Davide Nicola, who had been in charge since February 2022. Currently, Salernitana ranks 16th in the Italian Championship, with 21 points from 22 matches and fighting against relegation.

“With everyone’s courage and commitment, together with the passion of our fans, I’m sure we’ll live many joys. I can’t wait to play the first game and be with the fans to show what Salernitana is made of. Come on guys,” he added.

Former coach of Flamengo, Paulo Sousa trained the Rio de Janeiro team from January to June 2022. During this period, the coach did not fall in favor of the fans and left the club with 32 matches, with 19 wins, six draws and seven defeats.
