El Nacional, from Ecuador, entered the duel against Nacional de Potosí, from Bolivia, for the first phase of the pre-liberators, with peace of mind to play. The Ecuadorians won the first leg by 6-1 and, at the Atahualpa Olympic Stadium, this Wednesday, they managed a score of 3-1.
The winners are facing Independiente de Medellín. The first leg will be next Wednesday, at 7 pm (Brasília time), at the command of the Ecuadorians. The return will take place on the following Wednesday, at 9 pm, at the Colombians’ home.
The home team opened the scoring this Wednesday at 17 minutes of the first half. After a corner kick from the right, the ball was rebounded and crossed into the area again. The defense of Nacional de Potosí fumbled and Andrés Micotta managed to dominate. The defender hit the penalty spot and opened the scoring.
At the end of the first half, at 45 minutes, El Nacional extended the lead. Jorge Ordóñez invaded the area from the right and crossed low to the second post. Midfielder Madison Julho appeared free of charge in the small area and pushed to the bottom of the goal.

Nacional de Potosí responded 10 minutes into the second half. Gustavo Cristaldo took a free-kick from the edge of the area and scored a great goal for the visitors. The number 19 charged in the goalkeeper’s corner and, with a kick in the drawer, surprised his opponent.
In the final minutes, El Nacional closed the scoring with a goal scored by Byron Palacios.
