Peruvians must update their socioeconomic classification to access social benefits

Socioeconomic classification of about 2.5 million households expires this year, according to Midis.

The Ministry of Development and Social Inclusion (Midis) calls on the population to update their socioeconomic classification (CSE), since, according to the report of the Household Targeting System (Sisfoh), with information as of January 31, 2023, There are 2 million 420,765 households in the General Household Register (PGH) that register the expiration date of their CSE during the current year.

It is important that the State have up-to-date information on the socioeconomic condition of population groups living in poverty or extreme poverty in our country, and that they can be assisted in emergency situations or with the execution of public policies that benefit them and improve their quality. of life.

Having an updated CSE is one of the requirements to apply for a targeted public intervention such as Pensión 65, Juntos, Contigo, among others. In addition to having the possibility of accessing economic subsidies that the State may approve.

Households can check whether their socioeconomic classification expires this year by visiting the website of the General Household Register www.midis.gob.pe/padron or by going to the Local Registration Unit (ULE) of the municipality where they currently reside.

The Midis, through Sisfoh, has been notifying via text messages to the cell phones of the users of the Contigo, Pensión 65 and Juntos social programs, according to information registered in its system, so that they can go to the ULE of their municipality and request to update your CSE in a timely manner and before its expiration.

What do I need to do the procedure?

The process for updating the CSE is free and is carried out in the ULE of the municipality of the district of current residence, presenting the original DNI or Immigration Card of all the members of the household, as well as the electric power consumption receipt not older than three months, if the home has this service.

It is important that people know that once they process the CSE or its update in the ULE, they agree to update their information in the PGH, when there are changes in the number of members in their household, change of address or with less than one year to the end of its validity.

It is necessary to point out that the Sisfoh’s main function is the administration of the General Household Register (PGH), which, as of the cut-off date indicated at the beginning of this publication, contains socioeconomic information on 6 million 235,709 households and its 17 million 117,180 members. , in order to provide this information to public institutions for the identification of their potential users.
