Julian Araujo to FC Barcelona

The authorities of FC Barcelona have lodged an appeal with FIFA and are waiting for a decision on this matter. The appeal appears to have been successful. According to information from Fabrizio Romano, a journalist specializing in transfers, Julian Araujo is to fly to Barcelona to sign a 3.5-year contract.

– Julian Araujo in Barcelona. The Mexican right-back will travel to Barcelona tomorrow. The deal was finally made after the crazy Deadline Day saga. Araujo will sign a contract until June 2026. Deal agreed with LA Galaxy for just under four million euros,” Romano wrote on Twitter.

Araujo can’t count on playing for FC Barcelona this season. A certainty on the right side of the defense is a very well-playing Frenchman Jules Kounde. In addition to him, coach Xavi can also bet on Sergi Roberto in this position.

The 21-year-old Araujo scored and had five assists in 40 games for the Los Angeles Galaxy in all competitions last season. In total, he has made 98 MLS appearances for the club since March 2019 (a goal and fourteen assists). He is a three-time representative of Mexico. According to the professional portal “Transfermarkt” he is valued at 6 million euros.
