“The Irony of Fate” is a Soviet comedy from 1975, also known in Poland as “Happy New Year”. In Poland, this film has never been very popular, like most Soviet productions, but in many countries of the former USSR it is still a cult production, and the role of Barbara Brylska is admired by millions. However, it turns out that the case of “erasing” the Polish actress is not the only case. In January, a member of the Russian Duma’s culture committee, Sergey Solovyov, said that all scenes with “traitor actors” should be cut from Russian films.
