Olympic canoeist Ander Elosegi quits high-level competition

The canoeist from Irun Ander Elosegi (35 years old) has decided to abandon high-level sports practice after 17 years. The canoeist from Irún is the only Basque athlete (man) who has competed in four Olympic Games, competing in the slalom canoeing final (C1) in all of them.

Without going any further, in the last games played in Tokyo in 2021, he achieved a new olympic diploma after setting the eighth fastest time in the final, which was his fourth diploma in as many Olympic appearances (Beijing 2008, London 2012 and Rio de Janeiro 2016).
