Baza: football players of Russian and Ukrainian teams staged a mass brawl in a Turkish hotel

Football players of Russian and Ukrainian teams staged a mass brawl in the Turkish Royal Seginus hotel, where they lived at the same time. This is reported by the Baza edition in the Telegram channel.

According to preliminary data, the incident occurred on the evening of Monday, February 13. Several representatives of the Ukrainian club “Minay” approached the head of the Yaroslavl “Shinnik” and began to demand that he sing the anthem of Ukraine. He suggested that the Ukrainians go out into the street and sort it out “once at a time.” The conflict was extinguished by intervening hotel employees.

After some time, several players of the Ukrainian club ended up in the same elevator with the Shinnik player and beat him up. When the elevator arrived on the floor, a group of Yaroslavl football players was standing there, and a mass brawl began between the players. The hotel had to call the police and an ambulance.

Now there are clashes between the players and representatives of the teams. The hotel now has two police officers and additional guards on duty on a permanent basis. The hotel itself confirmed the information about the fight, but assured that “now everything is calm.”

Earlier, the midfielder of Monaco and the Russian national team Alexander Golovin embraced the midfielder of Marseille and the national team of Ukraine Ruslan Malinovsky after the match of the 20th round of the French championship. The meeting took place on January 29 and ended with the score 1:1.

Later, Malinovsky apologized for hugging Golovin, calling the incident an accident and stating that he should have bypassed the Russian side. Honorary President of the Russian Football Union (RFU) Vyacheslav Koloskov called it normal for the athletes to shake hands, noting that he did not want to discuss the Ukrainian’s decision to apologize for what had happened.
