Sophie Hall has been a player of Box Hill Athletics Club in Melbourne for several years, which has been one of the most successful clubs in Australia for years. It was there that many athletes who represented the country at the Olympic Games began their careers. Hall is one of the greatest hopes of Australian athletics and proves at every turn that she can become a future star of world sport.
Fantastic performances by 11-year-old Sophie Hall. Two world records in three days
In 2022, Sophie Hall did not lose a competition in her age category at the regional, state and national levels. In 12 months, she grew rapidly, which allowed her to significantly improve her results and continue to dominate the competition. She confirmed her outstanding talent at the end of January at the Victorian Millers Club meeting, where she ran a distance of 1,500 meters. She achieved a time of 4:28.19, which turned out to be a new world record for the age of 11. Three days later, she broke another record at the Victoria U-14 State Championships in Geelong. In the 3000 meters run, she set a time of 9:38.16 and became a double world record holder.
It is worth mentioning that in the second of the starts, Hall ran with competitors three years older and overtook the most dangerous rival by over a minute. In both cases, she surpassed the achievements of the Australian Imogen Stewart, who so far held both the best results in the world.
