This term says a lot about attempts to change the perception of people in the mature age. The world is changing and more and more women in their 50s, 60s or 70s are coming out of the shadows. They are becoming bolder and bolder about their needs. Still, some of them are afraid of criticism from society. They do not look for a partner and withdraw from social life. They do not want to meet men, especially younger than themselves.
Sexologist Andrzej Gryżewski in an interview with “” encourages patients not to give up the intimate sphere. He cites the example of the wife of the French president, Brigitte Macron, who is 24 years older than her husband. People think that a mature woman has no right to be associated with such a young man. And yet, the marriage of Emmanuel and Brigitte is happy and successful.
I encourage patients to at least try to meet a younger man. However, they often have psychological ‘farsightedness’. They see the future in a bad light. (…) You don’t have to plan a future with him or have children, you can flirt with him and see how you feel about it. (…) Think about yourself. You want romance, get romance. You want sex, get sex.
