The first ski jumping World Cup weekend in Lake Placid has come to an end in 33 years. Sunday. It was the weakest performance of the Polish national team this season. In a week the competition will move to Rasnov. It is known that the leading Polish jumpers will not perform there.

Coach Thomas Thurnbichler revealed in an interview with Eurosport that the top Polish representatives will not go to Romania next week. During this time, they will be preparing in Poland for the upcoming world championships in Planica. The championship will take place from February 22 to March 4.
– Now we will be preparing for the World Cup, so our best players will not play in Rasnov. We will train at home, complete the fitness level of our jumpers and go to Planica fresh – said Thiurnbichler in an interview with Eurosport and added: – Kamil Stoch will not go to Romania either, he will be preparing with us for the championships.

This means that Rasnov will not feature e.g. winners of the historic duo competition, i.e. Dawid Kubacki and Piotr Żyła. If Kubacki took part in the competition in Romania, he would have a chance to reduce the loss in the World Cup to Halvor Egner Granerud. It currently stands at 290 points.
The jumpers will compete in Rasnov from Friday – then the qualifications for Saturday’s individual competition will take place. The duo competition will take place on Sunday. Women will also compete in Romania.
