With this result, Newcastle is in fourth place, with 41 points, wasting the chance to touch the top. On the other hand, Bournemouth are still in the relegation zone, with 18 points, in 19th place.

Bournemouth’s next appointment is on Saturday, February 18th, when they will face Wolves, away from home, at 12:00 pm (Brasília time), for the 24th round of the English Championship. Newcastle will face Liverpool on the same day at 2:30 pm.

The game

Playing at home, Bournemouth arrived well in the 13th minute. Dominic Solanke headed the corner past Pope, who was attentive and made a good save. Newcastle, in turn, found it difficult to get rid of the marking and almost didn’t bother the home team.

In the 30th minute, Marcos Senesi opened the scoring for Bournemouth. He took advantage of Ouattara’s pass inside the area and finished to make it 1-0. Eddie Howe’s team reacted and left everything the same before the end of the first half. Longstaff received in front of the goal, finished and saw the goalkeeper defend. On the rebound, however, Almirón did not waste and tied.

In the second stage, Longstaff had a good chance of turning to Newcastle, but Neto defended. In addition, Bournemouth had the opportunity to secure the result with Dominic Solanke, but Trippier arrived well and avoided the home team’s goal.
