The World Cup merry-go-round has moved to Lake Placid this weekend for the first competition in 33 years. Initially, the competition was supposed to start on Friday, but the organizers decided to conduct three additional training series on Thursday. . The first competitions are scheduled for Saturday, when the jumpers will perform not only in individual competition, but also in historical duets.

Historical duos competition in the World Cup

The beginning of the rivalry overseas was not optimistic. . . Therefore, the jumpers will have a busy Saturday. Qualifications will take place at 14:30 Polish time, and the start of the individual competition is scheduled for 16:00. For some players, this will only be the halfway point of the competition. At 22:00 there will be a practice series before the historic duets competition, which will start an hour later.

This formula was tested during the Summer Grand Prix in Rasnov. Then Stefan Hula and Paweł Wsek presented themselves very well, taking second place. The victory was enjoyed by the Austrians, and the podium was completed by representatives of Japan. Now this competition will make its debut in the World Cup.

Two players will take part in the competition, and each of them will be able to make a maximum of three jumps. After the first series, the number of competing teams will be reduced to 12, and the top eight duos will advance to the decisive third series. According to the organizers, teams from Kazakhstan, Estonia, Romania, Switzerland, the United States, Finland, Italy, Japan, Germany, Slovenia, Poland, Norway and Austria will fight for the premiere victory in this competition. The composition of the Polish team is not yet known.

The historic duos competition within the World Cup will take place on Saturday, February 11. The start of the competition is scheduled for 23:00 Polish time. The competition can be watched on TV via TVN and Eurosport 1. An online stream will also be available on Eurosport Extra on the Player platform.
