Russians booed in Spodek in Katowice. They played with the Ukrainians

Russian teams can still participate in esports competition without any obstacles. The only sanction they face is a ban on playing under the name of an esports organization. In particular, this applies to entities that derive financial benefits due to cooperation with Russian state-owned companies. The Outsiders is such a team.

Outsiders is the new name of the Virtus.pro team. However, even the organization itself does not hide the fact that the players still somehow represent them. This infuriates many fans who also see it and are not happy about it.

During the first match open to the public in Spodek, we watched the Ukrainian team NAVI and Virtus.pro. The Ukrainians were greeted with thunderous applause, the Russians on the contrary. She publicly responded to the Russians with whistles and booing. It was not heard so clearly during the broadcast as it was live in the Spodek Arena.

The Outsiders are the winners of the last Major tournament – IEMu in Rio de Janeiro, so unofficially they can be called world champions. Many fans, however, express doubts whether the Russians should play in this tournament at all. The truth is, however, that this will probably not change and esportsmen from the country that invaded Ukraine will still compete with the rest of the esports world without any obstacles. Outsiders finally lost to NAVI 2:0 and was eliminated from further competition in Katowice.
