Russian figure skater Daria Usacheva withdrew from the Grand Prix stage in Japan. This was reported on the competition website.
The athlete injured her leg during the warm-up before performing in the short program. She fell while trying to perform a triple flip, she was carried away by the doctor of the Russian national team Philip Shvetsky.
Thus, Russia was left without representatives in women’s single skating at the stage in Japan, since another Russian woman, Alexandra Trusova, also withdrew from the competition due to injury. For the first time this season, Russia will remain without medals in women’s skating at the Grand Prix. According to the results of the short program at the Grand Prix in Japan, the Japanese Kaori Sakamoto is leading with 76.56 points. In second place is her compatriot Mana Kawabe with 73.88 points. The third place is taken by the representative of South Korea, Yoo Yeon, with 68.08 points in her assets.
