The Basque Government will analyze the interim agreement to determine its effect

The Minister of Governance and Self-Government, Olatz Garamendi, has assured that he prefers to do a “slow reading” of the agreement because “he is not aware of the details.”

The Minister of Governance and Self-government, Olatz Garamendi, has explained that his Department must make a “slow reading” of the agreement reached yesterday between the PNV and the Spanish Government to promote regularization of the temporary staff of public administrations recognizing that not aware of the “details” of this pact.

This agreement, as reported by the PNV in a statement late on Thursday, will allow those temporary workers with more than five years of seniority can obtain a permanent position.

Upon arrival at the plenary session of control of the Basque Parliament, Garamendi has avoided making a first assessment of the significance of this announcement by ensuring that he does not know “the details”.

“I prefer to do a leisurely reading,” said the counselor, who recalled that “if it were so” the agreement would have a great significance because would affect thousands of people in the Basque Autonomous Community.
