Chile beats Paraguay and enters the World Cup qualifying zone

Even playing away from home, Chile dominated the actions against Paraguay and had an Olympic goal by Sánchez to leave Defensores Del Chaco with a score of 1-0 this Thursday in the South American Qualifiers.

The good result will take Chile to fifth place in the competition, with 16 points added. Paraguay follows with 12 points and in eighth place.

Chile came with a more solid proposal for the midfield game in the first half and managed to stay longer with the ball. Even so, the visitors’ upbringing was weak and didn’t allow the attacking men to kick into the opponent’s goal. On the other hand, Paraguay bet on counterattacks, but also didn’t take the zero off the scoreboard.

The visiting team continued to play better in the second stage and found the winning goal after 10 minutes, with the experienced Alexis Sánchez. The Chilean shirt number 7 tried a close and direct corner kick in Antony Silva’s goal and scored an important Olympic goal.

Paraguay’s next clash will be against Colombia at the Estadio Metropolitano de Barranquilla, at 20:00 (GMT) on Tuesday. On the same day, Chile host Ecuador at the San Carlos de Apoquindo Stadium. The match will be held at 9:15 pm.
