Ministry of Education will have two campuses for the distance modality

Intended for students who do not go to face-to-face classes after mandatory return

What will happen to students whose parents do not want to send them to campus once the mandatory face-to-face return begins?

The Minister of Education, María Brown, announced that the State portfolio will have two distance educational entities in Quito and Guayaquil to serve students who cannot attend in person. In these cases there will be those who due to some medical condition cannot go to the classrooms.

Everything we know about returning to face-to-face classes in Ecuador

They will be entities for “fiscal support” for the Costa regime and another for the Sierra and Amazon regions. One will be administratively in Guayaquil and the other in Quito. They will have rectors and full teaching staff for this alternative.

Brown said in Ecuavisa that these entities will be ready to serve the student population that wishes to continue virtually.

The minister said that the process to switch to the virtual system will be open in all cities, depending on which school system it belongs to. The process can be done on the website or the district. The parent must make a transfer request, which can be from a fiscal campus in person to the remote fiscal entity. Or it can be from a private entity to fiscal.

Education sets dates for back to school with 100% capacity for 4.3 million students

Brown said yesterday that the mandatory start of classes is for schools that have permission for face-to-face mode. “It is not mandatory for families, in what sense? When there are students who do not have the possibility of attending in the face-to-face modality, the Ministry of Education will grant the possibility of them being assigned to the two distance educational entities that the country will have ”.

The work schedule includes three phases for the complete return to presence. Students from technical, rural and Galapagos high schools would return to classes on November 22.

On December 6, the rest of the high school and basic higher education students would do so, that is, minors between 12 and 17 years old. While on January 17 it is scheduled for schoolchildren of all levels in the country. (I)
